Viagra Dosage

Key points

Viagra Dosage

Viagra comes in three doses 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg
The recommended starting dose for Viagra is one 50 mg tablet
Increased risk of side effects if you take 100 mg dose
Viagra is available in 25, 50 or 100 milligram (mg) tablets. The recommended starting dose is 50 mg to be taken about an hour before sexual activity. If 50 mg is adequate for you, but you’re suffering from side effects, consult your doctor, who may advise you try lowering the dose to 25 mg – or may advise you to stop taking Viagra completely. 100 mg is the maximum available dosage, and it’s important to be healthy with no health conditions if you want to take this dosage.

It’s also important to be aware that other medications can interfere with Viagra, as well as alcohol, so keep your doctor informed about other medications you are taking.

Viagra 25 mg
These tablets are the lowest dose available. If you take medication, you may be prescribed this dosage as medication can interfere with Viagra. Quite a lot of men also choose this Viagra dosage as the lower dosage means that side effects will be minimal or completely absent. It’s important to remember that Viagra 25 mg lasts as long as the higher dosage options – on average for four hours after dosing – although the effects can be a little less pronounced.

You can take Viagra 25 mg half an hour to an hour before you have sex. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water. If the lower dose of 25 mg doesn’t have the effect you want, speak to your doctor about whether it’s safe for you to take a higher dosage instead.

Viagra 50 mg
This is the dosage recommended for men who are having problems with erectile dysfunction. However, if the dosage seems too strong or too weak for you, the doctor could recommend either increasing or decreasing the dose. Studies have shown that 50 mg was found to be effective in almost three-quarters of men, so it’s likely you’ll experience success with this treatment.

However, if you find that this doesn’t work for you the first time you take it, there are a few things you can do. These include:

Trying 50 mg up to four times, taking it exactly as recommended If you have no success with the above, talk to the doctor about switching to 100 mg Try another erectile dysfunction drug such as Cialis

Viagra 100 mg

Viagra 100 mg is the most potent dose available. This should be taken in exactly the same way as smaller dosage tablets – half an hour to one hour before having sex and on an empty stomach. While the effects don’t last longer than the 50 mg dosage, they tend to be stronger. Side effects (see below) are more likely when taking 100 mg.

If you continue to fail to achieve the desired effect after taking 100 mg eight separate times, it’s best to consult your doctor. As 100 mg is the highest dose available, you should never take more than one tablet at a time or take more than one in 24 hours.

Before taking Viagra it’s important to ensure you’ve discussed your full medical history with your doctor. If you experience dizziness, sickness while having sex or chest pain, make sure you seek medical help immediately.
